Fitness and Health: Is your body ready for the Summer?

Angela's body is so sick! Like seriously, doesn't it give you some motivation?! I follow her on twitter and knows she regularly hits the gym and it's clearly paying off! Well bikini or not, we all want our body and skin to look amazing this Summer.

Here are a few tips to get you ready:
oh and let's not forget that I am no fitness expert! Lol

1. Cardio! I hate running, even though people think that I should be a runner since I'm Kenyan, smh. I absolutely hate to run but it's good to get blood flowing to your heart and getting the rate up! Set a goal of revving up your exercise routine with 30 minutes of cardio at least five days per week. Cardio exercise increases metabolism, which allows the body to burn fat even when not exercising. There's so many ways to get cardio in your routine: jump rope, swimming, kick boxing, elliptical, zumba!

2. Get your booty in shape: Do lunges, squats, jumping squats! Aim for 15 to 20 repetitions of each. I like these, I do them with some weights to add some resistance.

3. Eat HEALTHY: Now, I am a lover of food and wine. Lord knows! I can't give up my burgers and fries and white merlot BUT the older I get the more I notice how my weight is actually starting to show o_O. Sooo skip the fried chicken and enjoy lean proteins or fish with vegetables. Salads with clear dressings, low-fat dairy and whole grains are all great healthy options. Snack on fruit and nuts!  Don't starve just choose your meals wisely.

4. DRINK WATER: Water is great for our skin and it clears the system. When I go out to eat or even if I'm home I drink water (no ice) with some lemon or lime slices. I'm cutting out the sugary juices and TRYING to skip out on alcohol.

Okay so these tips should get us all started. I think, I'm going to add more cardio in my routine. Good luck ladies!
