OPI Teams Up with Disney for Oz: The Great and Powerful Collection

OPI has another collaborative collection! The new nail collection is inspired by the new Disney movie Oz: The Great and Powerful, an adaptation of the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz. While the movie is not debuting until March, the collection has us anxious for the magical new shades, featuring pearlized, glittery and matte finishes.Neither the movie or the collection include Dorothy, but it would have been fun to include a sparkly red polish for kickers. We'll digress. I would have also preferred bolder colors in the collection...only neutrals and metallic glitters here. Nonetheless, the collection's color mix has a sense of whimsy, magic, and mystery. Oh, and the "liquid sand" is a matte glitter. Hmmm, sounds interesting...wonder what that looks like on nails!

Trend to try: Stiletto Nails

Over the last few months many celebrities, Lady Gaga and Rihanna, just to name a few, have been spotted sporting a new popular nail trend, Stiletto nails.

If you haven’t heard of them or seen them anywhere, Stiletto nails are when your nails a shaped and rolled tight into a narrow tip. I’ll have to admit, I’m more of a fan for natural nails versus acrylic ones but, I was chosen to be a part of a photo shoot for a colleague of mine and at their request I went and got them done.

These nails make your hands look very elegant, but I feel incredibly over the top. I’m sure I’ll get a few stares and/or questions from my coworkers.

Having these nails remind me of when I was a little girl, playing dress up and putting on press-on nails. My only regret is that I didn’t get them a little shorter. It makes me wonder how people function with long nails on a regular basis. I got white polish at my friend’s request but I’m excited to try some other colors and I’m definitely looking forward to getting these shortened.

To continue with our Spring postings, add this uber girly color to your wardrobe and makeup routines and feel instantly polished and Spring-y! The great thing about Fuchsia pink is that it compliments any skin tone, dark or light. Just be sure to choose the right hue for your skin, whether it's blush or lipstick.

Nicki Minaj and OPI Team Up

So Barbie...aka Barbz...aka The Female Weezy...shit, just Nicki Minaj (lol) will be debuting her new limited-edition Nicki Minaj for OPI nail polish line and the colors are just as crazy as she is! The collection, which is set to be in stores this month, is a true representation of Nicki, as the colors are wild, crazy, and fun. There's a total of 6 colors...2 glitters, 3 opaques, and 1 shatter.

The rap artist started her beauty brand teaming up with MAC for Pink Friday lipstick, (which is identical to Pink Nuveau). According to her verse on "Make Me Proud" ft. Drake, "It's Mac, OPI, and a fragrance too..Apparel, I'm dominating every avenue" we will be seeing more of the this chic's beauty and clothing talents in the near future. Can't wait to see that clothing line...hehehe.

OPI Texas Collection

Hey Beauties!

I LOVE OPI nailpolish! It's gotta be the best and longest lasting polish I know, and the colors are phenomenal! You can't go wrong with the brand because there's always a new collection launch introducing the prettiest hues.

Spring Nail Colors

Ok, so its officially Spring and the weather here in DC is amazinnnggg! Vonney and I have been going out a lot more lately and basking in the weather lol.
