Anyone who reads Essence magazine's relationship column or follows the award-winning blog, "A Belle in Brooklyn" knows life coach and author Demetria Lucas. Known as "The Black Carrie Bradshaw," she is the "it" girl of the black social and relationship scene. On her blog, "A Belle in Brooklyn," she muses about dating, relationships, and being a fabulous, independent woman. I must say I LOVE Demetria!! I had the opportunity to visit NYC on a college media tour, where I met her and asked for advise on life after college. From book signings to appearances, to writing columns and hosting parties she is the perfect example of how I envision my career.
Soooooo, for any of you apiring journalists or creative writers who want to make it in the industry, Demetria will be visiting Howard University Bookstore on Friday, May 6 from 2-4pm, discussing and answering questions about post college life and helping turn dreams into realities. She will also be reading from her upcoming book, "A Belle in Brooklyn: The Go-to Girl for Advice on Living Your Single Life." I encourage you all to attend the visit...she is a phenominal person and has created an extremely positive name for herself.
More importantly, she is making her dreams a reality!
