Basic B*tches Wear That Ish...So I Don't Even Bother
Hey guys...ran across this video called Gucci Gucci by Kreayshawn, a white Oakland based female "rapper" who spits about basic bitches wearing mainstream designers such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. She is repping her hometown of Oakland California, pracing around and throwing up her signs, and wearing what clearly looks like vintage and thrift store finds. The song's overall theme is that people should have their own identity and style, and not jump on the band wagon of what's "hot". I agree with the message, i guess...but this chic is..............interesting to say the least.
I think her lil sidekick with the nerd glasses is soo cute, with her bold lipstick and two toned hair...works for her!
I can agree with the message, I think ghetto fabulous hood stars who get a little money and go out and buy anything with a designer label is tacky. however, I couldn't even sit through the whole a little corny.
It is corny and a contradiction too. She puts down big labels but try to promote her fashion style (which is nothing new) with the intention to get people to buy her song. The problem is that her record company spend an extraordinary amount of money on advertisements to push her song Gucci Gucci but at the end people did not buy it. She is not in the 200 charts. What a waste of money! So many talented artist could have benefit from it. This is one of the reason why records companies are not making high profit anymore. They lost their touch with the real thing.
